Organizer: Kimmo Ketola, The Church Research Institute, Finland, kimmo.ketola@evl.fi
This thematic group focuses on quantitative studies of religious diversity. The presenters participate in a project called “What Are the Impacts of Religious Diversity? Regions in Three European Countries Compared” (2007-2010). The session will present the key findings of the project and also discuss the theoretical and methodological challenges of building quantitative indices of religious diversity and using them to study the effects of diversity on people’s religiosity and social attitudes. The thematic group will welcome other papers focusing on the theoretical and methodological issues of the quantitative approaches on the effects of religious diversity.
