Religion and politics

This thematic working group focuses on the role of religion in the political arena. Some of the presenters participate in the research program ”The role of religion in the public sphere. A comparative analysis of the five Nordic countries” 2009-2013 (NOREL). Of special interest are themes such as reactions to visible religious symbols in the public, religion in party programs, religion in parliamentary debates, and the relationship between religiosity and political attitudes. The working group is open to everyone with an interest in the role of religion in the political sphere in the Nordic countries.
